Tuesday night, 12 November was the big night for the second screening in Melbourne of the Sign Painters movie which was a sell-out!
More then 350 people turned up to see the documentary style movie that night and were part of the live sign writing demo’s by Rob Wilding, his friend Simon & George Rose!
As it turned out there were many professional (retired?) sign writers among the audience who also had a go at sign writing their own name, something that proved popular with the audience!
It was great to see so many people interested in the art of sign writing and the book “sign painters” sold very well during both days.
And then it was time to watch the movie! I heard laughs, saw heads nodding with recognition and generally people enjoyed themselves watching this wonderful documentary. I think the applause at the end said it all!
Thank you everyone for being such wonderful appreciative audience! Your enjoyment brought a smile to our faces! And thank you Marius for making it possible to screen the movie at the RMIT theatre! And last but not least: Thank you Faythe & Sam for putting such a wonderfull documentary together!
Please visit our Facebook page for more photos of the two movie events in Melbourne.
We are now looking forward to the other interstate screenings that are going to take place, and hopefully we will achieve to have a screening appearing in each of our states creating as much enjoyment as last night’s!
The next screening will take place in Sydney on 21 November, where Team Lynes & Co are putting together a sign writing exhibition which you can visit prior to the movie.
The event kicks off at 6 pm for a 7 pm movie start. Book your tickets now if you don’t want to miss out!
