During my long Melbourne Cup weekend, driving through the old goldfields of country Victoria I came across plenty of old fashioned examples of sign writing. Looking at these old buildings dating back to the mid 1800’s early 1900’s, it sometimes feels as if time stood still.

But it doesn’t as in most of these towns you can now get a quite decent cup of coffee! Hooray! One more reason to get out of  the big smoke and enjoy some old country charm on your weekend!

And if you enjoy sign writing then come and join us on Monday 11 or Tuesday 12 November in Melbourne. We are screening the Sign Painters movie – a documentary movie about sign painters in the USA and their old craft – at RMIT, Swanston street, building 80 (SAB) with live sign writing demo’s and a sign painting exhibition.

It’s a 6 pm start for a 7 pm movie screening. Tickets are $15. If you don’t want to miss out then please book your ticket here.

Hope to see you there!
